I Have Overcome
Don Potter
Tuesday, June 28, 2011

In this featured worship video from a recent Sunday morning service at MorningStar Fellowship Church in Fort Mill, SC, Don Potter shares about how submitting our strengths to God as a sacrifice will draw the Kingdom near. He then leads the church in a song of prophetic declaration, “I Have Overcome”.

Be theSong...

I just was so touched by Don and his sharing and the worship that followed. You know when the Lord speaks, He is intimate. He can speak right to your spot of pain right there in front of everyone and yet it is like you are in a small booth in a hole in the wall on a cozy date with Him. This little streaming video touched a point of pain in me, brought healing, and showed me that God loves my crazy. In fact, I'm not the only one. There are others. WE have been longing for THE SOUND to overtake us in our worship and on our team. So, to hear others say and cry out and long after the Lord is so encouraging. What we know in our minds to be true is sometimes hard to remember as you are being thrown down the stairs, so to speak. Bless you all in Jesus Name. -Abby

Don, Christine and the A-Team as far as I'm concerned. Probably the best worship band I have ever seen! Ever since I first saw them at the Winterthur conferences have been awesomely blessed by thier ministry. They have inspired us to lead worship in the same way which we do whenever we get chance. Thanks so much for hosting them and posting this. Just awesome! kind regards, Jeremy P.S. Is there any more we can see..................?

Don Potter: I Have Overcome (5/22/2011)

What an awesome resurrection of a Don Potter classic. I love how he proclaims, "suddenly we're playing 70's rock music in the church". That is such a confirmation. As a worship leader, I have felt the draw now for several years towards the musical styles of the 70's. And if we're honest about it we can't deny the influence some of that music has had on many of our lives in a good way. There were a lot of really great songs written back then. Unfortunately, the church rejected the "sound" 40 years ago. But I believe they're coming full circle now - finally! There's something about 40 year cycles. Actually with some minor lyric modifications a lot of the classic 70's songs that we loved (and still do) [let's be honest] make really tremendous praise and worship songs when you shift their focus to the Lord. The Lord has not allowed us to let go of something I honestly believe that He released into the earth then... but His people were not ready to receive it then and therefore rejected it and allowed the enemy to pervert it. So God had to raise up a generation of musicians and worshipers who would be bold enough to bring into the church today what He had released and intended for the church back then in goodness and purity. Now our church worship is evolving into something entirely different than it has ever been. Yes, we are the sound! Yes, we are the champions! Yes, we truly have overcome! Praise the Lord!
