Hello Moderate, have you noticed how morality has reached an all time low and it was promoted by - you guessed it - rock music! The rock lyrics I heard promoted drug use, promiscuity, anti-social, anti-American and anti-Christian behavior. Of course you are right; it didn't CAUSE us to do all those things, it just told us it was OK, and to a young, impressionable youth that was sufficient to put them on the wrong path. Thankfully there were concerned parents, teachers, Christian leaders and others who cared enough to help youngsters by teaching and promoting a better lifestyle.

A little paranoia is not a bad thing. I love to be accused of being a little paranoid. It proves one is thinking and weighing options. Not enough of this taking place. Without paranoia, we become a nation of sheep...follow the leader, follow the crowd. Not good.

I'm sure you really believe that this is all paranoia but what your comment really shows is ignorance of history. While your degree may be economics, mine is history. You mention right-wing Christians legislating, It is not about legislating the Bible into law, any attempt to do that would be wrong, its about maintaining some sense of a moral framework within our government of which cannot happen if there is no moral compass at all. You also talk about hating muslims. Apparently you still buy the notion of "moderate" muslims...where are they? I'll tell you where, in America. Most muslims here are not jihadists but they are largely silent. Some say the moderates don't speak up out of fear, well ok, but this country is certainly the safest place on Earth for these moderate muslims to voice their displeasure about the extremists is it not? So where are they? Why are they still silent? The fact is that when you get outside of the United States, muslims are vastly different, even in Europe although that is largely a creation of European policies and treating immigrants like third class people. Nevertheless, when you go to the Middle East, polling clearly shows that the vast majority of muslims, while perhaps not willing to strap on a bomb themselves, hate the west and support the jihad against the west. You sir need to wake up. This situation is very much like the KKK. At one time they struck fear into many and wielded great power but then, people of their own race began to stand up against them, marginalize them and eventually, reduce them to little more than a small, fringe laughing stock. Moderate muslims should follow this model and the end result will be the same but they do not, not even here so save the moderate muslim crap because the evidence shows otherwise. Until moderates within Islam itself, marginalize the jihadists...nothing will change. I have no hatred of muslims in general, but I refuse to give any group a pass based solely on the political correctness of doing so. They need to step up and they refuse. Now, back to marxism in America, paranoia...really? It seems as though you fall into the very trap that American marxists have set. Josh you should check your facts before you post. Clinton signed into law the de-regulation of the housing market. Despite what you hear in the news it was Bill Clinton deregulating the Community Reinvestment Act in 1995, that started this mortgage crisis. But as most Democrats it is much easier to blame others for your mis-steps.

I am a "right wing Christian".The Christian people that have gone before me are the founders of this great nation. The Constitution and Bill of Rights that you as an American citizen enjoy, are a result of Christian men coming to this continent and working their fingers to the bone. They had no retirement or free healthcare paid for by "public money" that you claim to be our tax dollars. These men and women organized a fledgling government, "of the people by the people, and for the people." They didn't want the church out of the government but rather wanted the government out of the church. This was due to the experiences of their past in Europe where the the government tried to run every aspect of their lives. What I want from my government is the opportunity to live in a society where I am free to worship the creator of ALL things. I believe in ONE God and I believe that He loves all of His creation and wants us to live in freedom. That also is the freedom to FAIL if my business practices FAIL. I don't think any single person on that Mayflower came over here thinking he was going to "try" to succeed. I think they came here in desperation for freedom FROM government. They succeeded or they failed on their own merit. No one was there to bail them out. That is freedom! I guarantee that if my business fails today, no government is going to come to my rescue and bail me out. Especially if I am poorly managing or completely miss-managing my company. I don't believe in, "To big to fail" and I don't think our fore fathers thought that either. This is a great country with very intelligent people. If the company they worked for went out of business there would (and will) be economic troubles - so what? You think that is the first time? Use the brain God gave you and start your own car company or finance company. NO - you won't get rich over night and you will have to work your fingers to the bone. That is freedom. As a God fearing American I don't want my government telling me I have to do ANYTHING. I want to be responsible enough to do what is right, because of my moral and ethical beliefs, not because my government told me to do it. Is it wrong for me to want freedom of religion, a free enterprise system, the right to voice my opinion, the right to choose my own healthcare, the right to own my own home and live where I want, the right to protect myself and my family by owning a gun (which I would prefer not to register, for other reasons I won't go into here) ? No it is not. These are Bible based ideas and inspired by God to be put into our Constitution and Bill of Rights, and I quote, "These are inalienable rights endowed by our Creator." (not the senate or house of rep's) You said, "Right wing Christians legislating a theocracy is only less violent than the Taliban enforcing their Shariah Law by gunpoint." Now as a fellow Christian you must know the difference between Christian and Muslim. Why would a God-fearing Christian believer ever recommend "teaching Islam in a peaceful way?" Do you believe in ONE true God and Creator? I have never seen, in my life, our government "promoting" Christianity ( in fact I believe they are trying to remove Christianity from the public arena). What I have seen is our nations people staying true to its roots. This nation was founded on Christian principles and values. I can prove that too, please ask me. However, with the removal of the ten commandments and any nativity scenes and the like from public property that is changing before our vary eyes. I have never seen one person drug into a church and forced to believe anything. I have never seen a Christian man forcing his wife to hide whom she is, or treat her like a piece of property. If you haven't checked on the goals of Islam I suggest you do some reading on that. Why is Christianity so prevalent in America? Because it works, it is the truth, and it is the BEST way to live a quality, happy, and complete life. Christianity is freedom as God had intended it to be. Time has and is continuing to proven that every word of the Bible is true. All of that is great, but as a Christian you should know what a relationship with God is all about. Love, Faith, and Hope. I know I am telling you nothing new by saying that God is Love. He loves us and He wants us to love each other. Nothing in there about dominating anyone or anything, either peacefully or by jihad. Faith to believe in something unseen, but known in your very soul. Why do you help anyone? Or why do you criticize anyone? Because in your soul you know there is right and wrong and God gives us the Faith to believe His way is right. Finally hope, Hope to believe that there is a great and wonderful future for all believers. Hope to believe in one another that we will do what is right. Hope that you will have the sun come up in the morning, but if it doesn't, we know that, "in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose." Rom. 8:28 Finally, let me say that none of this is an excuse to do anything. Instead it is a call to arms: responsibility. God calls on all Christians to get involved and be a responsible citizen. Before we tear up what people are doing, make sure we are doing as God has required of us. Read up on the people we vote for, go and vote responsibly. Get involved in the process. Just because we are Christians is no excuse to believe everything we hear, rather, read for ourselves.. Start by reading our Bible and ask God what direction we should go.

Josh - You really should look into Islam a little more.....it is not a religion. It is a political ideology - meaning a complete way of life - one component being religion, but also, educational, political, economic, financial. Are you aware that Islam teaches that you are an infidel and they are instructed to either convert you, let you pay a protection tax and live like a second class citizen, or to kill you? You think only 19 think like this? Look into all the Muslin Brotherhood organizations in America - their goal is to establish a GLOBAL Islamic state and to establish WORLDWIDE Sharia Law. You should also look into Sharia Finance.....the interest on a loan is paid into 8 categories - the 7th being zakat - which is terrorism funding. You think this is just for 19 crazy ones? No, it is to accomplish their two goals and once they have the numbers they need to rise up against us, it will be jihad - funded terrorism.

Hey Josh. I agree with you on most points here. I think you have explained things very well, and I would just add a couple of thoughts. I think many people were concerned about the healthcare bill because they see it as just another welfare program. Their tax dollars increased to fund healthcare for those who don't work. I realize that some cannot work - but you get my gist - for those who will not work even when able. Does the benefit received from a healthier society and environment "pay them back" for the use of their tax money? Maybe - but no one ever explained this in a clear way. And if we are a FREE country, some people would rather decide this for themselves, rather than having some choices (no insurance) lead to penalties which again are just more taxes. Secondly, I agree that most followers of Islam are non-militant. They just want a safe, successful life for themselves and their families - just like you and I. I do hear an occasional comment from a cleric who will disavow the actions of the terrorists, and I know that there are many who voice their opinions against the violence. I do, however, feel that their outrage should be more apparent. They should be screaming at the top of their lungs against these misled youth. They should be offering them hope in the form of jobs or opportunities - they should deal with their problems and reduce the violence. I really don't see much of this. What I do see is Muslims interacting with others to explain their religion. You will have people handing out brochures that talk about Islam being peaceful and that we should not judge Islam by these extremists. I don't really want a brochure. I want them to get in the middle of the problem and fix it. If WE are the problem, then work with us to fix that. But don't just hand out brochures. But on the whole, I feel you and I are on the same wavelength. Nice to talk with you!

You say you have a degree in economics? How can you say that the cost of health care won't be dumped on us? The problem is if the goverment controls a part of our economy, who holds them accountable? No matter who's in charge of your healthcare we all pay it's a question of how we keep the system honest. Goverment control doesnt stop epidemics. Look at the latest flu scare, we were told that it would be a pandemic and yet it turned out to be less dangerous than a normal flu virus. On the other hand some diseases have run rampant in France and Europe. You also say the fear of the goverment is paranoid, and yet those fears are backed up bye actual events and facts that are taking place right now. Paranoia is based on a fear that is not supported by facts.
